The
Lubbock Cotton Kings
The defending Southwest Division Champion Lubbock Cotton Kings have
a pair of goaltenders joining their 2005/2006 roster with the re-signing
of Shawn Conschafter and addition of Brett Koscielny.
The
Depot District
The Depot District is Lubbock's spot for nightlife, culture, shopping,
and more. Its cornerstone, the former Ft. Worth & Denver South
Plains Railway Depot (now The Buddy Holly Center), was constructed
in 1928 in a Spanish renaissance revival style.
Buddy
Holly Center
The mission of the Buddy Holly Center is to provide world-renowned
interactive and dynamic exhibits and programs on Texas Music and
contemporary visual arts. The Center collects, preserves and interprets
artifacts relevant to Lubbock's most famous native son, Buddy Holly,
as well as to other performing artists and musicians of West Texas.
Lubbock
Symphony Orchestra
The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra started in 1946 and is now classified
by the American Symphony Orchestra League as a group VI Orchestra.
It boasts a nationally-known conductor.
